Spring Finale Book Giveaway!

Next Thursday is our last day of class for the spring semester, and immediately afterwards in Heritage Hall will be our annual Spring Finale!  You won’t want to miss it because the SWI Library will doing a book giveaway. ;)  To be entered for a chance to win a free book, please be sure to enter your name into the drawing bowl at the SWI Library table at the finale and be present if your name is drawn.

One book that will be given away that night was recently written by former SWI student Melissa Cutrera.  Here’s a bit about her book!

God's Great Plan

God’s Great Plan by Melissa Cutrera is a great children’s book that explains the whole redemption story in a very compelling way with clever rhymes and beautiful artwork by Matthew Sample II.  It’s written in an easily understood way that helps little listeners remember God’s story.  God’s Great Plan is a great resource to teach your children, or other little ones in your life, about the gospel and resurrection especially as we anticipate the Easter season this weekend!  So please stop by to enter your name for Melissa’s book.  Or if you’d like to order one for yourself or a friend you may visit the Shepherd Press website.  See you soon!

Summer nights…

Tonight is the last time the SWI library will be opened before the semester starts. Stop by and check out a book before the craziness of the fall semester…

Join Us for a Treat Tomorrow!

Hello!  Lynsey & Kelly, here.  Our sweet Ashley Wells has handed us the baton – So we are your new SWI librarians!

We wanted to invite each of you to a Grand Reopening of the library after class tomorrow night!  Please stop by for a sweet treat as you check out a new book!

Here’s a bit about us:

Hello! My name is Lynsey Knisely. I came to Louisville in 2005 to attend Boyce College. During this time I met my husband and we were married in 2007. I currently work full time while my husband attends Southern. I enjoy reading, cooking, crafting, hanging out, playing with my kitties, and serving my church. Lucas and I do not have children, but are looking forward to starting a family soon. I am excited Kelly and I are able to serve the SWI ladies in the library this year. I have benefited from being able to check out many of the books that have been recommended in class and hope you learn to take advantage of this great resource! Please stop by the library to meet me and check out one of the many wonderful books!

Hi! I’m Kelly Hawley. I came to Southern with my wonderful husband a year and a half ago. We are originally from Colorado, and I am definitely missing my sun and beautiful 14,000 foot mountains. I really enjoy organizing, cooking, reading, budgeting, walking, and listening to my friends. I am currently working as an office manager, which fills a lot of my week. Nathan and I do not have children yet, but hope to in the future. The thing I’m most excited about with working the SWI library is meeting each of you and helping you get the resources that can help you further your joy in God, your homemaking, your parenting, your cooking, and whatever else I might be able to offer you! So now that you know a little about me, please stop in so that I can get to know you. And maybe you’ll leave with a book in hand!

We hope to see you tomorrow!  :)

Wanted: New Librarian

It’s been a while…

Life has gotten too chaotic and I have to limit what I am doing outside of my home for the sake of my family.

Unfortunately, being the SWI Librarian is one of the things I must sacrifice. However, it has been a great joy and honor to serve in this role. I highly value the worth of a good book, so it has been wonderful to encourage the same thinking amongst the SWI students.

Are you interested in filling the role of librarian? We are looking for someone who can take over the duties immediately.

Here are the main duties:

Open the librarian and help students with their book inquiries from 6:30 until 6:55 and 8:45 until 9:00 each Thursday of SWI.

Add new books to collection and catalog when donations are given or new arrivals come in.

Here is an optional duty:

Maintain this blog.

Please e-mail me at ashleykwells@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming the SWI Librarian, I will gladly train you in this role and answer any other questions you may have.

Substitute Librarian Tonight

Even though I will not be at SWI tonight, the show must go on! No, really, the library will still be open thanks to a wonderful substitute librarian.

My dear friend Indy (pictured left with her husband) will be working at the library tonight to help you with all your book needs!

Please stop by and feel free to drop off books and also check out books! Conversation will be just as friendly, if not more!

I’ll see you again next week!
